Esther Bruno Nangala
Esther was born in Alice Springs in 1981 and is a Pintupi woman. She was brought up at Christmas Creek, near Fitzroy Crossing, and later at Kintore.Esther was schooled in Alice Springs where she studied Art and learnt both English and Pintupi.
 Esther Bruno Nangala - Marrapinti(Click on images to enlarge) After returning to Kintore in 1999, Esther started painting under the guidance of her grandmother Naata Nungurrayi, a legend of the desert art movement. Initially involved in community activities, she began to paint full-time in 2009. Since then, she has developed her own style of relating the stories of the important site of Marrapinta. She paints bold, traditional designs which are vibrant, brightly coloured and highly textured. Esther represents an exciting view of the future directions of desert art.
